Through extensive and ongoing postgraduate training Dr. Brown has been recognized for his understanding of human genetic requirements to restore and expand human health potential.
The chiropractic adjustment is the focus of every visit at Brown Chiropractic.
Each adjustment is delivered to improve whole-body function. The nervous system is the “control-center” of the body, that when interfered with, lessens the body’s normal ability to coordinate, function, and heal itself . We recognize that health is based on function, so at the core of any true health care should be Measurable Functional improvement. In other words, not only should you feel better, more importantly you should actually BE better because your body is working better. It is for this reason that every practice member from infant to adult is assessed with technology to document how well that system is working, from the first visit throughout their care in our office.

As our mission indicates, we want to work with you as partners in health so you can experience greater health today and into the future! Since we opened our practice in Tazewell in 2001 we’ve remained passionate about promoting health and wellness to those in our community.
Our passion about health is steeped in having a healthy functioning nervous system as the foundation of health. Your brain, spinal cord, and nerves make up your nervous system whose primary role is to adapt you to your life. The better your nervous system adapts and the healthier lifestyle choices you make, the greater expression of health you become. Adaptation is key; when your nervous system is functioning at any level below optimal, it cannot respond or adapt as it was designed and the unwanted consequence is a departure from health. Our foundation of care is restoring the normal (and natural) function of your nervous system with chiropractic care.
The foundation of care in our practice is always the chiropractic adjustment. The purpose of the adjustment is to correct spinal subluxations. Subluxations, simply put, are misaligned spinal bones disrupting communication from brain to body and body to brain. Subluxations cause a “disconnect” between brain and body and thereby reduce your body’s normal ability to express health. For optimal results we also help you identify the triggers or stressors in your day-to-day life that are ultimately responsible for causing the spinal bones to become misaligned (subluxated), thereby disrupting your body’s normal ability to express health. While traditional medicine often focuses on your symptoms and relies on drugs and surgery, we believe that while drugs and surgery may at times be necessary, your symptoms or lowered state of health aren’t caused by not having enough drugs or too many organs in your body. We believe that most often people are born with everything God intended you to need to live a healthy life. Most often it is stressors that, day after day, week after week, month after month, and even year after year, leave our body overwhelmed and then symptoms and poor health ensue. The three most common types of stress are physical, chemical and emotional stress. Physical stressors include sedentary lifestyles, poor posture, repetitive movements, desk jobs, heavy lifting and more. Examples of chemical stress are over the counter and prescribed drugs, fast food, processed food, dehydration, soda, sugar….the list is exhaustive. And finally the “elephant in the room”, emotional stress. Studies show emotional stress is the game-changer that causes more disease than physical and chemical stress combined! In today’s super busy, 24/7, burn the candle at both end kind of days we can get emotionally exhausted. At to that feelings or thoughts of worry, fear, upset, and a myriad of other negative emotions and you can see it can add up very quickly.
You live your life through your nervous system, and when the stress from any or all 3 of the stressors are more than the nervous system can handle or process, if causes your nervous system to falter. Spinal misalignments or subluxations are part of how your nervous system copes with the overload of stress.
My primary role as your partner in health is to assist you in restoring your nervous system to the best function possible while also helping you both identify and reduce the stressors in your life.
